This cultural event offered a rare opportunity to explore the depth and beauty of Chinese landscape painting, or shanshuihua (山水画), one of the most enduring traditions in Chinese art. Guided by distinguished artist and speaker Qu Leilei, participants were introduced to how concepts, techniques and spiritual meaning evolved from the Wei and Jin dynasties through to the Northern Song.

Through Leilei’s insights, guests discovered the philosophical ideal of tian ren he yi (天人合一) — harmony between humans and nature — and how this worldview shaped both artistic expression and the way Chinese artists understood the world around them.

Bringing together art lovers, culture enthusiasts and curious learners, the session created a warm space for engaging with Chinese aesthetics and cross-cultural reflection.
